Our teacher leadership academies are district cohorts of teachers brought together to build both leadership and instructional capacity with job-embedded professional development. These gatherings are focused on high-leverage instructional moves that ensure teachers take ownership of the content of the lesson so students can take ownership over the learning of the lesson. Some teacher leadership academy topics include: unit and lesson ownership, determining high-leverage checks for understanding, analyzing student work, how to effectively plan and implement PLCs, etc. The goal of these academies is to build teacher leadership competencies and maximize instructional impact on both teachers and students.
