Long before the days of refrigeration and other technological advancements, small communities in Louisiana would come together to share in the all-day preparation and celebration of a joyful feast. This gathering was known as a “boucherie,” and it ensured nothing harvested would go to waste. It created a stronger sense of community as well as an appreciation for the food and each other.
Fast forward to the present…
We now invite you to join us in sharing an all-day community “boucherie” of learning and laughter. This educational celebration aims to create a stronger sense of community amongst Louisiana educators and an appreciation for the new Bayou Bridges Social Studies Curriculum. Join us as we embark on a series of trainings to help you better navigate this unique curriculum and maximize student learning through its materials.
