Description
Coaching takes more than knowing what good instruction looks like. You need to know where to start, how to support different teachers, and what to do when the work gets difficult.
Edu20/20’s Virtual Instructional Coaching Institute (VICI) is the recorded version of our two-day training for instructional coaches and leaders. Built on Jill Jackson’s How to Coach Teachers to Teach (Almost) Anything, the Institute walks you through the coaching process, with opportunities to practice along the way.
We begin with Priority Skills—the foundational teaching skills all teachers need—and how to set goals that give your coaching direction. Then we work through choosing between two coaching paths, adapting your coaching style, and organizing a schedule you can manage.
You’ll practice each part of a complete coaching cycle: leading the pre-conference, gathering classroom data, taking useful notes, and conducting the debrief. We also address the challenges that can stall coaching, including trust, resistance, and difficult conversations.
The training includes:
- Day 1 and Day 2 video sessions
- How to Coach Teachers to Teach (Almost) Anything by Jill Jackson
- The accompanying workbook
- Forms, templates, and step-by-step coaching guides
- Application activities and simulations to help you put the training into practice
Complete the training across multiple sessions and revisit them within your access window. Bring the tools into your next coaching cycle.
